This session introduces ways to use digital media to support and expand literacy education in the classroom and in a blended learning environment so that it includes multiple methods for students to represent and express their understanding of course content while finding the “best fit” for their particular interests and abilities. A design-based method is used to organize student learning and provide the framework for students to expand their abilities in multiple forms of representing their knowledge and making meaning. Practical classroom examples are provided to demonstrate and support presentation material.
