Nueva School of the Performing Arts will present a workshop on teaching students to create professional portfolios they can use to launch their careers. We will share our resume builder kit, our PowerPoint on resume and cover-letter construction, our lessons on business card design, free web-site construction, and, last but not least, self promotion. In addition, we will share rubrics for a portfolio assessment, and our model for inviting community members and business partners to facilitate mock interviews with students. Topics will include construction of mock interview questions and strategies for getting students comfortable with extemporaneous speaking. You can take this model and use it right away to pump up your assessment tools.
