KQED's News Education project creates multimedia resources and provides trainings for high school educators in order to facilitate the integration of current events into classroom curriculum and discussion. Harnessing KQED's award-winning radio and television news coverage, the project aims to encourage student understanding and engagement of key social and civic issues, and to help teachers use the news as a direct and relevant teaching tool. This workshop presents an overview of the project and delves into some of the multimedia storytelling applications used.
