Virtual Enterprise - Entrepreneurship Across the Curriculum

Presentation Category:
Work-Based Learning
Session Type:
CA Career Pathways Session
Presentation Description:
As the nation moves forward to adopt the educational models of STEM, Common Core, and 21st Century Learning - as teachers, were do we start? For over a decade, our video game design class stood in limbo trying to find a foothold in academia. This session is not about game design, but how our classroom went from mirroring the industry to becoming part of it. A virtual entrepreneurship gives students ownership to run all aspects of a business, but learn the soft skills needed for any career to the hard skills within your own industry while giving them the relevance for higher education. This session will also showcase innovations with open-source, virtual internships, project management, student salaries, and mobile development.
